Glenn Land Dexter Cattle
Our herd runs strong to English breeding with black, dun and red cattle which are horned, dehorned or polled. Our goal is to develop sound, productive cattle that meet our customer's needs. To that end, we are currently developing a group of small cattle that are free of the chondrosdysplasia and PHA genes, while maintaining the high quality herd we have become known for. The cows are 500 to 600 pounds and 38 to 42 inches tall at the shoulder. The herd bulls we have used are 42 to 44 inches tall and weigh 900 to 1000 pounds.
Llanfair's Polgaron
We went into partnership with Virginia Mills on a polled black bull named Llanfair's Polgaron. He was a bull with tremendous conformation and breed quality and sired the basis for our cow herd. Check our sales list for semen available from this outstanding herd sire. The calls for his semen have been numerous nationwide. Polgaron's calves were Grand Champion bull, Champion and Reserve female and high selling female at the 2000 ADCA National Show and Sale in Missouri. He also sired the Champion female at the 2002 ADCA National Sale and five of his calves went to the 2003 National Sale in Oklahoma where we had the highest priced bull and heifer. We had the champion female at the 2005 PDCA Show and Sale. Although Polgaron is gone, he continues to sire some of the highest quality Dexters anywhere.
A Polgaron Daughter
So even though we show our cattle, we still stress productivity. We feel that exhibiting the cattle keeps us from getting barn blind to the quality of our cattle and also allows us to show the public the many wonderful qualities of Dexter cattle.
We had a really good day at the 2007 PDCA National Show and Sale held at the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City. Our bull calf, Tristan won his class and went on to be Junior Champion bull and Reserve Grand Champion Bull. Mr. Simon, our yearling bull, won his class too. Tierney, our spring heifer calf, was selected as Champion Jr. Heifer. Our yearling heifers Ms. Shawna and Ms. Sara both won their classes and Ms. Sara was Grand Champion Female. We had 1st place Get of Sire and 1st place Herd and 1st place pair of females. Ms. Shawna topped the sale at $2200, followed by Ms. Pog at $2150 and Ms. Sara at $2000. Mr. Simon and Tristan sold for $1000 and $1100, respectively.
The Utah State Fair was a great venue for the show and we want to thank all of those who worked so hard to make the meeting, educational program and the show/sale a huge success. We would also like to thank our buyers and wish them lots of good fortune with their purchases.

The 2009 National Show and Sale was held in Rupert, Idaho where we had Grand Champion bull on Glenn Land Uno and Reserve Champion Female on Glenn Land Ms Unice.
